I have over 30 years of martial arts experience. I began training martial arts at the age of 6. I initially trained in Sambo and Judo, but then transitioned to Ashihara karate (offshoot of Kyokushin) and kickboxing. While in Russia, I actively competed in both judo, full contact karate, and kickboxing tournaments. After moving to US, I joined the US Navy and was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2001, I began training BJJ under Jerry Moreno (Alliance). After I got out of service, I moved to Washington DC Metro area and began training BJJ under Fernando Yamasaki. I am an IBJJF-certified black belt under Fernando. I still actively compete in BJJ and grappling tournaments. Here is a little highlight of the leg locks I pulled off in the tournaments.
