I started training in Kali-Silat and Muay Thai in 1989 with the following instructors under Guru Dan Inosanto and Ajarn Chai Sirisute: Christopher Clarke, Terry Tippie, and Geoff Brock. I started the University of Washington’s branch of Burton Richardson’s Kali-Silat Club in 1990. I was introduced to Shoot Wrestling by Sensei Yori Nakamura in 1991 when we hosted his Seattle seminar. I also trained with Matt Hume and Haru Shimanishi at AMC from 1998 to 2000. I also trained with Mark Messer, Kim Messer, and Eric Dahlberg at Ring Sports United from 2002 to 2005. I started my own gym in 2019 where I am a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and a Boxing Coach.
