A Native of Beaumont, California: James is a lst Degree Black Belt in Dalan Ti Ilokano, the Filipino “survival” style of Self Defense, Weapons, Double-stick and Pang-or, under Grand Master, (Pangolo) Jessie Dancel.
A Black Belt of 8 years after 15 yrs of training, James teaches the “internal/ external” form of the Ilokano practical fighting style and has competed throughout his martial arts training. James was inducted into the Filipino Martial Arts Hall of Fame July 2019. Also has a CSW affiliate since 2019 under Erik Paulson.
