New student level dvds are shot and in the can.

Hi Erik here-

I’m in Virginia at  the Trident Academy, and just finished shooting the student level 1-5 curriculum for all of the students and coaches to have and have as a set in stone syllabus.  We are also now creating cool csw tshirts for each level 1-5.   Hang in there guys… lots of cool stuff to come, mkay!!!

Great moves I will try them out tonight. How does my school become a CSW member? I have been out to your seminar in Virginia. It was alot of fun. Interest is really growing for grappling arts and I do not hold a rank in Jiu Jitsu but am pretty good at submissions.

    Hi mike-
y ranking system for the first level coach is obtained by knowing all of the student level curcillum levels 1-5. Obtained by training with me on seminars, doing intensives, training with my accredited coaches and schools, training in my camps, or by coming out to my gym for a week and training in my pro-fight practice and taking my nite technique classes. Those are your options and if you need more info for each…contact Tonya at 818-915-3225. Keep logged on to my website for the student levels 1-5 DVDS…which will be available soon!!! I’m excited to get them out to the public. Webmaster Bob is doing a Great Job…you’ll see. P.S. Pat Tray’s Trident Academy teaches the CSW curriculum at his school.
    THANK YOU.

I cannot wait to see theese great DVDs!! :) Hopefully i can take some Time and save some Money to come to the US and have some Training Weeks in your Academy ;) Maybe it´s possible to get tested via Video cause the Airfare and Hotel costs are really expensive from Germany to the US.

    Have a great Day Erik!

    Cheers
    Martin

    Erik,

Any idea on when the DVDs will be ready and available to the public for purchase? Let me know. Thanks.

Erik here, we’re hoping to have the dvds done by Christmas!!! We’ll keep u poated on the progress. Thanks for your patience! I’m working hard!!!

  20. igor says:

i cant wait ,i think this is the best thing to studi mma at home

  21. paul inman says:

This is the best thing to happen for me. I lover all of your stuff. I have trained of and on in bjj since 95. I always get bored with sport bjj so i go back to boxing or some other martial art. Well in all that time I”m only a blue belt but I can roll with a brown belt just fine. But after all that training I would like to try and get some rank so i can open a school on the poor side of town where in Dallas and make it affordable for those kids. Please keep me on your mail listl. I also plan to fly out to your school and train.
    thanks for making this available

  22. Martin says:

  24. Keith says:

    Hi Erik,

I would just like to second what Martin suggests.

“Is it possible to make a Long Distance Training Programm with Video Testing?

This would be ideal for me as I live in N. Ireland.

    Thanks for your time.

    Kind regards,

    Keith

Come on Bob, it’s killin us. at least post and let us know somethin.

  26. tony says:

new student 1 to 5 look great cant wait to get them.are there any t shirts for the differnt levels ,for students when they pass the levels etc.

  27. Hank says:

An outline of the content would be helpfull.
Would love to know if there is any clinching and striking part of the series.

  28. Bob Burgee says:

Hello Tony, I don’t believe there are T-Shirts for levels, but I will leave that question for Erik.

Hello Hank, There will be more outline content posted soon. There is not much striking on this series. This series is for the submission requirements. There is some clinch work, but more pummeling, positioning, transitioning, lock flows, takedowns, and submission finishes.

  29. Keith says:

    Hey Bob,

    What about video testing?

  30. Martin says:

Yeah, the video Testing would be very very nice! Is it possible?

    Cheers!
    Martin

  31. erik paulson says:

    Hi Guys-
The student levels are finally out thanks to our webmaster Bob Burgee, he has done a great job!!! It’s taken 2 days of shooting, 100 hours of editing time, and 6 months of finagling the curriculum… to create these dvds. These are the essential basics that i believe are needed to become “solid and effective” on the ground to create a strong base for your submission wrestling, and, submission fighting success. This curriculum comes from wrestling, bjj, shooto, judo, sambo, and catch wrestling.
Thank you for your patience, and remember, “your basics need to work on everyone, and under every circumstance”. “It’s not how much you know, but how good you are at what you know.”
    Erik Paulson

  32. Keith Foster says:

    Hi Erik,

Thank-you very much for the update. I would love to hear your thoughts on video testing. Thanks for your time.

    Kind regards,

    Keith

  33. jrd says:

    Hi Erik,

myself and a training partner are very interested in becoming CSW certified. i personally have been training CSW for over 3years. however, my trainers who were certified under you no longer are keeping up with CSW and I believe are moving in a new direction.
that leaves me with a lot of CSW training, and nothing to show for it.
Although i have had much success with CSW in my MMA fights.
I am a FIRM believer in the greatness of CSW.

I guess my question would be, with the training i’ve had, how would I be able to move forward without starting from scratch.

could you email me so we can discuss this privately?

    thanks,

    jrd

  34. Si says:

The clips look great. As for the video testing, Erik has outlined in other areas of the website that his instructors have to complete at least 20 hours intensive training with him a year.

I don’t mean to answer for Erik or CSW, I’m not a CSW qualified coach. Just to mention that the requirements are there.

If you really can’t get out to California once a year, then maybe a European camp can be set-up every year, if there is a big demand.

  35. Keith says:

    Hi Si,

Your right the clips do look great. Thanks for your post and for the information. A video test for each student level would have been awesome though! Not to mention a trip to sunny California. LOL

    Kind regards,

    Keith

  36. Mike says:

I got mine 2 days ago… Lots of info. would have like to see striking also but hey its CSW not CSS right. Lots of info on stuff you might just slap your head and go that is alot better and easier way than I was trying before. Atleast for me it was this is the most of Mr. Paulson’s material I have seen. I am excited to start drilling this material out.

  37. Si says:

I do have a question that I hope Erik or someone who has had a chance to look at the material in-depth can tell me. Erik has produced a TON of material over the years, how does the material on these DVDs compare to his other sets? Particularly the CSW Essentials. Does this effectively replace the CSW Ess. set? Or does it work better as a companion to other sets, such as the Seminars and Camps?

Also, what sort of clinch material is covered on these sets?

  38. Alvin Chan says:

    Hey Si,

The Essentials Series is excellent, I don’t recall which DVD has clinch in, but I can tell you that it is very plentiful in clinch material. I wouldn’t say it replaces any previous CSW DVD that has been put out. I like to think the Student Level DVDs compliment the previous stuff as well as gives the Coaches a standardized outline of material to be covered & specific guidelines in helping their students work thru the student level ranks.

The DVDs ROCK Bob!! Well worth the wait.

  39. Si says:

Thanks for the info Alvin, so much of what Erik has put out has been great. These are going on my immediate to-buy list, along with the Camp 2008 DVDs.

  40. tony says:

just got the student levels dvd sets. loads of stuff for instrutors to work on and teach .as far as striking erics csw striking dvds are fist class.my students love all off the stand up stuff. also lots of stand up teqs are on erics instructor camp dvds 2008 etc.

  41. Gregorio says:

would you recommend CSW camp 2008 or the Student level dvds? are they basically the same or totally different material covered?

  42. Mike says:

To help get answers and questions on techniques in this series would we be able to those answers in the members only area?

  43. bryan z says:

i have levels one and two at the momnet, they are worth every penny…thanx Erik . lot’s of material to go over and review

  44. Dan says:

Finally they are here! Woo Hoo! Can’t wait to get them.

  45. I am normally not one to post my opinion on other’s sites, but for this post I just needed to do it. I’ve been searching through your website a lot nowadays and I’m super impressed, I think you might potentially become the main voices for your market. Not sure what your load is like in life, but if you started commiting more effort to writing here, I’d bet you would start receiving a mass of traffic soon. With affiliate stuff, it could emerge as a sweet passive revenue source. Just an idea to think about. Good luck!
